Singapore Signage Company Visits ZIGO, Confirms Channel Letter Partnership

Last week the owner of a Singapore signage company visited ZIGO's factory in Shenzhen. He does signage himself — his company handles storefront and wayfinding projects for malls, hotels, and office buildings in Singapore, with design and installation in-house. Production is where he gets stuck: jobs come in, local factories can't fit them in, and a slipping schedule leaves his installers waiting. He came looking for a manufacturing partner he could work with long term.

Inside the factory he looked closer than most clients. At letter fabrication he stayed by the workstation for a while, checking welds and grinding marks — how clean those are decides whether light lines show up once the sign is installed. People in the trade always look there first. At the coating line and assembly, we walked him through material choices for a tropical climate: 316 stainless or aluminum for outdoor bodies, stainless fasteners throughout, fluorocarbon coating for weather resistance, UV-stable acrylic for faces. He compared several batches under the light. At the light testing area, front-lit, halo-lit, and lightbox options were lit side by side; he cared most about uniformity and lumen depreciation — Singapore's commercial streets are brightly lit, and a dim sign is money wasted.

Sitting down to talk, his points were practical. Documentation: Singapore has clear requirements for electrical components and materials, and his company submits material specs and test reports when bidding. Batch consistency: his projects mean dozens of signs for one mall or several stores for one brand, so we confirm a full-size physical sample first, lock color, letter thickness, and illumination, then produce later batches to that standard — dimensions adjusted per location, process parameters unchanged. Export: ocean freight to Singapore takes only a few days, so schedules are tight. We build packaging to letter dimensions with internal bracing and each letter secured, plus installation drawings and a fastener list, so his local installers can go straight to the wall. Long-term work: we'll build a standard parts library for his common letter types, so future orders only need dimensions, colors, and elevations.

Before leaving he said: locally, factories won't take small batches and can't handle large ones; sourcing from China, the worry was always schedule and quality. This time, he felt he had found his production side.
